From Maine to the Moon: ISS to Artemis
We are excited to host Brian Ewenson, Aerospace Educator! This event is sponsored by the Winthrop Parent Teacher Organization.
This event, from 3:00 – 4:00pm, is designed for ages 12 and older. There is an event for younger kids from 4:30 – 5:30pm on the same day.
Follow Maine’s four astronauts as they flew aboard the Space Shuttle leading the way to our Return to the Moon with Artemis. Jessica Meir from Caribou, Maine, serves presently as the ISS Commander and is also part of the cadre of 18 astronauts selected for the Artemis Program that circled the moon in early April. Parts of the SLS rocket were made in Maine. See what it is like to live, work, eat, sleep, and play in space with real NASA equipment and artifacts.

Living & Working in Space: No Shoes, No Shower… No Problem!
We are excited to host Brian Ewenson, Aerospace Educator! This event is sponsored by the Winthrop Parent Teacher Organization.
This event, from 4:30-5:30pm, is designed for ages 11 and younger. There is an event for 12 and older from 3:00 – 4:00pm on the same day.
Grab your space helmet, get strapped in, and go for a ride to space and back. In this hands-on/minds-on presentation, you will participate in a shuttle mission from crew selection through training, the launch to orbit, and a safe return to Earth. Learn what skills it takes to live and work in space. Real space artifacts will be displayed and there will be many hands-on demonstrations with audience participation.

Friends of the Library Cookie Walk & Mini Book Sale
Spring is in full swing, come celebrate with a cookie walk and mini book sale courtesy of the Friends of Bailey Library! 9:00am – 12:30pm. Here’s how it works: you purchase a bag for $9, and you get to choose what kinds of cookies go in it. The Friends have baked a mouthwatering assortment of cookies for you to choose from, how can you get only one bag?!
In addition to the cookie walk, there will also be a mini book sale. We’ve collected thousands and thousands of books since the Friends’ last sale, and they’re eager to show you what’s available. Pokemon Club (Teens and Tweens)
Wednesdays after school, come join us in the Harrington room to go toe to toe with friends in our weekly friendly Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) club! Learn the basics of the game and have fun entering into battle against other trainers. Don’t have your own battle deck? Don’t worry, we’ve got a bunch! Put the hum in your strum! Join the “Bailey Ukulele” group on Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Suitable for all skill levels. Please bring your own music stand! Join us on the third Saturday of each month for a social hour with Shane Billings dissecting the work of Agatha Christie, the bestselling novelist of all time. Looking for a cozy place to craft and connect? Join us every Monday starting March 2nd at 4:30pm for Bailey Yarn Club! Adults are invited to bring their knitting, crochet, sewing, needlepoint, and other string or fiber projects to enjoy a relaxed, social, creative space. Please join our brand new “Keep Moving” exercise class for seniors! This class will involve light aerobics and gentle movement exercises that work for your body. The class meets from 5-6pm every Monday and no registration or equipment is required. Bailey Title Waves Book Club
For the months of June and July, we will meet on the 4th Friday. We will return to the 3rd Friday of the month in August.
